Comcast restores service in several Federal Way neighborhoods

For an update on the story below, please see this report on our brand new web location. Please join us there for local Comcast news.

We know that XFINITY services are very important to the lives of our customers. We’re eagerly working to restore services this morning to several neighborhoods south, east and west of Panther Lake in Federal Way.

The  incident was caused by someone vandalizing equipment in Federal Way with bolt cutters. It’s possible, though we don’t know for sure, that the person was looking for copper wiring. However, as soon as they cut and saw fiber optic cable, the person(s) apparently left.

We know customers rely on Internet, video, and other services. As splicers work to reconnect the individual fiber optic strands this morning, we’re working to restore these neighborhoods as quickly as we can. We appreciate the patience of our customers.
